The ink and toner provider has launched a new green movement, aimed at taking action to reduce its carbon footprint.
Ink cartridges and toners are made out of plastic and metal. When discarded cartridges end up in our landfills they can release harmful chemicals into our environment. Because these cartridges are made out of plastic, a material made from oil, they also never disintegrate. Most cartridges are recyclable, but sadly only 20% are disposed of in the proper way.
4inkjets has gone the distance in changing the way the products they sell impact the environment. One of the first changes is using recycled material for its packaging. They have also replaced their foam packaging peanuts with heavy paper.
Their green innovations have stretched further than their packaging. 4inkjets has switched over to eco-friendly envelopes and pre-paid return bags. The light bulbs in all their call centers and warehouses have been switched to energy efficient light bulbs that reduce their energy use up to 30%. Their old air conditioning units have also been replaced with newer energy efficient ones.
