The skinny tie trend kicked off in the 1950s and early 1960s when British bands such as The Beatles and The Kinks popularized this style. Today, it could be found on rock stars and businessmen alike.
To help you get this look, we found easy instructions from our British friends at Thomas Pink. As part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy group, Thomas Pink is a leading luxury shirt brand that also offers ties, knitwear, accessories, and more.
Hang your skinny tie around your neck, making sure the wide end is about a third longer than the narrow end.
Cross the wide end over the narrow end.
Loop the wide end back behind the narrow end.
Continue passing the wide end across the front of the narrow end once more.
Pass the wide end up through the loop, holding the front of the knot loosely with your index finger and thumb.
Pass the wide end down through the knot in front. Once through, tighten the knot carefully, lightly pinch the base of the knot, and draw up to the collar to complete your look.
